On a dark and stormy November 6th, Pirates Movie Production North American tour embarked on B.O.B., the quaint little indoor skatepark at Windells Snowboard Camp, much to the delight of the residents of nearby Sandy and Welches. Damn, I look good going small! Photo: Tim Zimmerman In the annual "race for first," even the resort that opens first is still a loser thanks to a little place called Timberline in Oregon. But while Timberline has had its lifts running for the past few weekends, October 29th marked the officially start of the season, with the lifts on the lower mountain cranking up for the first time in the 2010/11 season. Party Time Nate as "The Hoff" Halloween is this Sunday. Do you have your costume picked out yet? If you're like me, probably not, and on Saturday you'll schlep on over to Goodwill and end up with whatever ridiculous getup is leftover. For this YoBeat Most Awesome Chef challenge, the home court advantage was Nate's, as Peter drove down to Portland to attempt to take out Nate once again. The secret ingredient of coffee (provided by Wille Yli Luoma and Heart Roasters) prove to be a challenge for both chefs, but they managed to put together two very good meals. This may come as a shock, but on October 9, 2010 the Downtown Throwdown in Seattle, WA, got rained on. Not only did it rain, but over the five or so hours of action in Occidental Park, it went from a light northwest-style drizzle, to pounding east coast-style down pour and back again, a couple times. Competitors stripped off their soaked sweatshirts when they got too heavy, and the crowd huddled in plastic bags, but seeing at it was pretty much an a fall day in Washington, no one really let a little inclement weather get in the way of a good time.
