Another Cook Off Video!

What do you do for fun? Me, I put on cooking show spoof cook offs and then make videos of them. With each one (this is the fifth one), it gets more serious, and more polished. For the latest I branded it, came up with some instrumental background music, and got a sponsor that actually provided the featured ingredient. Then I spent a solid 12 hours editing, only to export and realize there were a few more things I wanted to fix. But after two days of editing, I figured, good enough! Enjoy. Apologies for another boring and nerdy post, but I have three things I want to make very clear. 1. Premiere vs. Premier. An event where they show or do something for the first time is not a "premier." I spent Labor Day weekend in Sante Fe for the joyous union of my cousin Emily in marriage. In between the three official parties, we did the tourist thing and I took some pictures. Here are a few of my favorites. Chimayo crosses. We stopped to take a picture of that house you can see in the background, but I actually like this aster close up better. Jared was allegedly a "pro" BMXer. He even has gone so far as to unearth old video parts, and has a plastic medal from an early 90s BMX contest hanging up in the office. Despite all of this, it's still quite amazing to me when he actually breaks out the bike and can do some tricks. I mean, he's old! So when we went up to Mark Rainha's jungle ramp in the SW hills, I was impressed to see Jared even carry his bike up the treacherous and steep dirt stairs leading to the 8-foot wide, four-foot tall ramp in the woods, but even more impressed was when he proceeded…

My most recent trip took me to the heartland of America. Well, wait, is Kansas in the heartland, or more like the pelvis? Whatever, it's a weird-ass place, probably one the strangest I've ever gone to on purpose. I was there for a wakeboard event at a cable park on a dead end road. In between where we stayed and the park was miles of mid-scale chain restaurants and big box stores, so I guess it was pretty much like anywhere else in America. Another Cook Off Video!

What do you do for fun? Me, I put on cooking show spoof cook offs and then make videos of them. With each one (this is the fifth one), it gets more serious, and more polished. For the latest I branded it, came up with some instrumental background music, and got a sponsor that actually provided the featured ingredient. Then I spent a solid 12 hours editing, only to export and realize there were a few more things I wanted to fix. But after two days of editing, I figured, good enough! Enjoy. Apologies for another boring and nerdy post, but I have three things I want to make very clear. 1. Premiere vs. Premier. An event where they show or do something for the first time is not a "premier." I spent Labor Day weekend in Sante Fe for the joyous union of my cousin Emily in marriage. In between the three official parties, we did the tourist thing and I took some pictures. Here are a few of my favorites. Chimayo crosses. We stopped to take a picture of that house you can see in the background, but I actually like this aster close up better. If you know me, you know I am not religious, however, there was no shortage of religious paraphernalia on our stops, so get used to it. Jared was allegedly a "pro" BMXer. He even has gone so far as to unearth old video parts, and has a plastic medal from an early 90s BMX contest hanging up in the office. Despite all of this, it's still quite amazing to me when he actually breaks out the bike and can do some tricks. I mean, he's old! So when we went up to Mark Rainha's jungle ramp in the SW hills, I was impressed to see Jared even carry his bike up the treacherous and steep dirt stairs leading to the 8-foot wide, four-foot tall ramp in the woods, but even more impressed was when he proceeded…
