You may remember the original Top Chef Portland. It was created during my initial foray into iMovie film making, but received high acclaim. Nate Betteker had recently moved to town, and we recruited him, as well as other Portland newbies Chrissy and Tim, to judge the ultimate battle of soup supremacy. One of my fun weekly tasks with Alliance Wakeskate is to update our Myspace profile with the Monday Cover of the week. It's basically the only time I go on Myspace anymore because it is so yesterday in the world of (anti)social networking. They obviously know that and are attempting to combat it with tons of new features. Which brings me to my point. Somehow I got on Nike 6.0's media list. Well actually I know exactly how. When they were just starting out, someone emailed YoBeat and asked for our address. I have been getting random packages ever since. It's a good list to be on, as special overnight deliveries have included a rad screen printed poster, a tube of orange shoe laces surrounding an actual pair of shoes, and other rad, random stuff. It's usually artsy enough that you keep it around, and you frequently see the pieces on display at the offices of magazines and the like. Snowed In!

I almost feel bad for how much trash I talked to the soccer moms at the tire place getting studs put on. Almost. They are still morons, but we are going on almost a week of snow and treacherous roads in Portland, with no signs of stopping. My second flight got canceled and they couldn't get me on another until the red eye Xmas eve so I said screw it and decided not to go. Thank you frequent flyer miles, I not only got my miles back at no charge, but they refunded the $10 I paid. I will make the pilgrimage  to Vermont some other time, when the weather…

Not only is blog the worst, and most ridiculous word in the English language (yep, it's acceptable in Scrabble), but I am obsessed. Like, more obsessed than I am with online scrabble (and as I've already made one reference in this post, you can see that's a lot.) Friday I went up to Mt. Hood with no intention of journalising in any way. I didn't even bring my camera. I was going to just ride for fun, because it's the holidays, and I don't feel like anyone who is paying cares about homey shred sessions. Is it just me or do television commercials seem especially bad/disturbing lately? On top of the fact that every ad agency clearly has their Pandora station set to "Feist Radio" when choosing songs, the digital technology has gone too far. I mean, some of the commercials in regular rotation are causing me nightmares, so I can't even imagine what they are doing to impressionable young children. Here are the three ad campaigns I wish would just go away. Samsung and AT&T I know! Let's play off the over use of acronyms in texting because our phone makes it easy to type things out. Is it just me or do television commercials seem especially bad/disturbing lately? On top of the fact that every ad agency clearly has their Pandora station set to "Feist Radio" when choosing songs, the digital technology has gone too far.
